As you build your new post-Corona life, what energy drainers do you need to remove? What energy givers will you make space for?

Your Post-Corona Life: Energy Drainers vs. Energy Givers

As we all begin to find ourselves transitioning back to “life as usual” in the wake of COVID-19 re-openings, it’s a good time for us to stop and think about how we want to spend our time and energy or what we want our post-Corona lives to be like.

Many of us have appreciated this slower, less busy season of life, and going back to the “normal” hustle and bustle of daily living may not be something you’re completely looking forward to. So, take some time today or this week to think about how you can proactively plan your energy expenditure for the next few months of transition.

If you would like support as you work through this exercise, feel free to schedule a complimentary discovery call to see if 1-on-1 coaching is a good fit for you.

Step 1: Identify Your Energy Drainers

Start first by identifying the stressors that drain your physical, emotional and mental resources. Then, move on to identify the activities that renew and recharge you.

Becoming aware and articulating your energy drainers and energy givers is the first step toward minimizing what is stealing your strength.

Step 2: Identify Your Energy Givers

It’s equally important, however, to carve out a little time for the things that renew you – maybe even things you’ve discovered or re-discovered during this pandemic. What types of things are energy givers for you?

For example, for me baking cookies is a real energy drainer. In contrast, listening to music, sitting in my garden, and sending thoughtful cards to friends and loved ones replenishes my depleted resources.

Step 3: Make a List

What are some of your energy drainers and energy givers? Make a list to refer back to whenever you need a reminder of what you need to add or remove from your “new” life:

Energy Drainers

1. _____________

2. _____________

3. _____________

Energy Givers

1. _____________

2. _____________

3. _____________

What Will YOUR Post-Corona Life Look Like?

We still need to maintain caution when it comes to this novel coronavirus, we can begin to stretch our wings a bit and decide what activities to do and which people we want to spend time with as we move forward. Remember to protect yourself from trying to do it all.

Are you willing to remove one energy drainer from your life and see what a difference it makes? I’d love to hear what energy drainers you’re ready to ditch and which energy givers you want to make space for in this new season. Just hit reply and let me know, so I can be praying for you!

Warmly,

Georgia
