Is this season full of stress? Here is an article to help you beat the holiday overwhelm according to your personality type!

I saw a meme floating around Facebook back in October that said, “Walmart thinks I want to put up my Christmas tree and eat turkey while wearing my Halloween costume.” How true!

It seems like every year the holidays come earlier and earlier. Or rather, the stores seem to put out their holiday displays and run holiday ads before we’ve scarcely finished with the summer. Just once, I’d like to leisurely enjoy autumn before being rushed into the frenzy of November and December…

Now, with Thanksgiving just over a week away, many of us are feeling the stress of preparing for a big family meal – even if we did take our cues from Walmart and began preparing and thinking about it months in advance. Then, as soon as we clean up the dishes and put away the turkey leftovers, we’re off to tackle our entire Christmas to-do list.

This season goes by so fast and can be so overwhelming if we aren’t intentional about how we handle it.

Understanding our unique personality traits and how we tend to handle the holiday busyness can make a huge difference in our ability to enjoy the “most wonderful time of the year.” That’s why, as the stress of the season begins to build, I wanted to share a blog post titled “How to Beat Holiday Overwhelm.”

This article comes from Laura Stufflebam Holth, who is a fellow Certified Personality Trainer, blogger at Scattered Woman Pursuing Purpose, and one of the behind-the-scenes members of my team. Be sure to hop over and check out her advice for surviving the holidays according to your personality style. There are lots of practical tips to help you truly enjoy the season this year.

With all these resources now at your fingertips, how can we pray you through the next couple of months? What has you feeling stressed? What are you most looking forward to? We’d love to be praying with you, so please leave a comment below or send me an email!

Warmly,

P.S. – I do want to recognize that for many of us, for a variety of reasons, there isn’t much joy in the holiday season. Whether you’re grieving, reeling from a recent divorce, struggling with family tensions, or something else entirely, please know it’s okay to not be as “merry and bright” as people may expect you to be. If you could use some support for when you feel down over the next month or so, be sure to look back over my post from last year, When Happy Isn’t in the Holidays. I’m praying it will be encouraging for you!
